Two South Korean soldiers were seriously injured in an apparent landmine explosion while on patrol in the demilitarized zone (DMZ). The two staff sergeants were on routine patrol duty in the DMZ, where the blast happened.
One soldier, Ha (21), lost both legs in the first blast, involving two mines. The other soldier, Kim (23), lost his right leg during the second explosion as he tried to help his wounded colleague to safety, according to the ministry. This symposium will present on residual limb management and the rehabilitation process.
